A 60 year old woman from the UK has been beheaded on the Spanish island of Tenerife it has been reported. Further reports suggest the act was carried out by a Bulgarian man.
The lady in question was in a Chinese supermarket on the island when a man came in and without speaking to the victim randomly started attacking her by stabbing her with a large knife then cutting her neck to remove the head. The perpetrator then left the Chinese supermarket with the head in his hand before dropping it outside as security guards gave chase and wrestled him to the ground.
Reports are circulating that the henoius act was carried out by a Bulgarian man who was homeless and resided on the island. The man in question is 28 years old and it is understood he is known to the Police in the area from previous violent conduct and received treatment at the psychiatric unit of a local hospital earlier in the year.
The 60 year old victim has been named as Jennifer Mills-Westley, a UK national enjoying her retirement travelling between France and the Canary Islands.
