Simeon II at Royal Wedding

Simeon II has received an invitation to the English Royal Wedding and will be attending. The Royal list of people attending was published yesterday and Bulgaria’s Simeon Saxe-Coburg and his wife Margarita were on the list and we have an understanding that they will be attending this auspicious event.

Simeon II will be in the company of many Royals from countries across the globe such as Bahrain, Belgium, Denmark, Greece, Malaysia, Morocco, Netherlands (Holland), Norway, Romania, Spain, Sweden and Serbia to name a few.

Although Simeon II is not classed as Royalty today, he is of Royal descent after becoming a "Boy King" at a tender age when he ascended to the throne after his father Boris III. This all changed post World War II when Communism took over Bulgaria and the monarchy was abolished causing the Saxe-Coburg family to be in a dire situation.

After the abolition the Saxe-Coburg family, including Simeon II went into exile. Times changed however after Bulgaria escaped the clutches of Communism and in 2001 he started a political party that saw Simeon II become Prime Minister for one term, Simeon II stepped down as leader of the party in 2009.
