On February 1st the price of a bus ticket in Smolyan will increase by 25%, an increase approved and agreed by all three transport companies operating in the region.
Currently the price of a bus ticket is 80 Stotinki but from February 1st 2011 the price of a bus ticket in Smolyan will increase to 1 BGN. The three transport companies that operate bus services in the Smolyan region are Orpheus Express, Rojen Express and Megatrans.
While many feel this price increase is too high the CEO of Rojen Express has announced that the reason for the price increase is because of the spiralling costs of fuel.
