The Bulgarian National Bank has released data on last years economy that shows overseas investment has dropped significantly since this time last year.
Between January 2010 and the end of November 2010 the amount of investment from foreigners dropped by sixty seven percent to a total of 894,7 million Euro. This figure is a huge drop when compared to the 2.782 billion euro of investment from overseas that Bulgaria saw from January to the end of November 2009.
Although foreign investment fell sharply through 2010 it seems that Bulgarians abroad could afford to send more money, or the number of Bulgarians working abroad increased as the amount of money sent in to Bulgaria increased. This meant that 1.922 billion euro was sent to Buglarian nationals by their friends and family, an increase of 530 million euro for the same period of 2009.
