It was announced this afternoon that the seaport of Varna has closed today due to severe weather conditions. The sea coordination centre for the Varna seaport has confirmed that the weather issues related to shutting the seaport are due to severe strong winds that are blowing at rates that could impact the ships in the port.
The Varna seaport is the largest commercial port
in Bulgaria and was built in 1968 when the walls of the quay were built higher. The port caters to passenger and cruise ships along with cargo ships too.
