Grigor Dimitrov, the Bulgarian number one male tennis player, has just managed to get through to the second round of the ATP Challenger tournament held in Cherbourg, France.
Grigor Dimitrov, the 19 year old tennis star from Haskovo, had a tight first round match against David Guez from France. This match saw both sets go to tie break which Dimitrov won to seal a victory 7-6 7-6 (two sets to zero).
By winning his first round match Dimitrov sealed a 730 Euro winning fee, but more importantly eight points towards his ATP ranking which has now gone to a record high of 78th in the world ATP rankings.
The second round now faces Grigor Dimitrov and he has the potential to move further up the rankings by gaining a win.
