Fog has been affecting the transport network in areas of Bulgaria throughout the day today with Sofia, Yambol and Kyustendil mostly affected.
The fog was so bad this morning in Sofia that the airport recorded delays and some cancellations on flights while morning flights to western Europe by Bulgaria Air took off from Plovdiv airport instead because of the foggy weather.
Yambol, Pernik and Kyustendil also saw foggy weather affecting road transport as the visibility went down to between thirty and fifty metres in some areas. The fog, along with wet and icy conditions in some areas has meant that the highways agency reported warnings of hazardous road conditions.
