A fatal car accident has occured around the town of Targovishte it has been reported.
An accident occured outside the town of Targovishte on the main road that links Varna and Sofia. The accident, involving a car and a heavy goods truck, is still under investigation but it is believed that the weather conditions are partly the root cause of the accident.
Currently it is snowing in Targovishte and the road surface is wet with icy patches.
The male driver of the car died at the scene of the accident and has meant that the road was closed for a period while the area was cleared.
There are large traffic jams around the accident area as vehicles have built up while the road was closed.
