Gas prices in Bulgaria are to drop from the 1st January 2011 it has been reported. The Bulgarian State Energy and Water Regulatory Commission approved a price reduction of 5% after a review on natural gas in Bulgaria.
This price reduction is the second since October and brings the total gas price reduction to 6.1% during this time.
The reduction of 5% will be effective for three months so will take Bulgaria to the end of the first quarter in 2011.
Interestingly the price reduction varies from city to city with some seeing larger reductions that others. Below are the percentage reductions by city.
Pleven - 5.7%
Razgrad - 5.6%
Kazanlak - 5.5%
Vratsa - 5.4%
Sofia - 5.2%
Plovdiv - 5.2%
Burgas - 5.2%
Varna - 5.1%
Veliko Tarnovo - 4.6%
