The authorities in the northern town of Ruse have issued a weather warning for those travelling on the roads this festive season.
With New Years just a few hours away many are travelling to see loved ones and enjoy the New Years Eve festivities, but a weather warning about travel has been imposed in Ruse.
Ruse is suffering from freezing conditions and fog, both combined making travel by car very dangerous. Currently areas of Ruse have been reduced to between 100 and 150 metres of visibility because of the fog.
The temperature in Ruse has dropped to between -13 degrees celsius and -10 degrees. Although the roads have been cleaned there are still pockets of ice on the road throughout the region which is exacerbated by the low visibility.
The regional road managment team for Ruse have advised extreme caution while driving because of the wintery conditions of ice and fog.
